Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological physiotherapy involves an initial in-depth assessment of your movement capabilities including your sensation, strength, flexibility, mobility, balance and functional capacity. Following a thorough assessment, we will discuss realistic goals and how we might work towards your individual goals.

Rehabilitation aims to enhance neuroplasticity through intensive goal-directed exercise therapy to maximise your strength, flexibility, movement capabilities, walking ability, balance and fitness. Rehabilitation also involves education, carer training, proactive prevention of secondary complications and encouraging long-term activity and engagement.

LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s Disease

LSVT BIG is the gold standard rehabilitation management program for people with Parkinson’s Disease. It involves a high intensity, high amplitude exercise program which is applied to your specific functional tasks and goals. The program is best taught in intensive blocks to drive neuroplasticity through high repetition and make your new movement strategies “stick”.

Referrals for Private, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Department of Veteran Affairs, Chronic Disease Management Plan, Compensable Clients and clients accessing therapy via their Consumer Directed Care Packages are all accepted. Fees are in line with the individual funding models fee structures.

Home-visiting or community-based rehabilitation can be arranged if clinically appropriate. Home-visiting services may include attendance at local pools, gyms or similar if these community settings are part of your goals and individualised treatment plan. Additional fees are incurred to cover travel time and costs. Please discuss your personal situation with your therapist directly.
